Intake
Email threads, form submissions, voice notes, SMS, recorded calls, file drops, CRM events — the messy front door where work shows up before anyone’s decided what it is. Most operators have ten intake surfaces and no canonical inbox.

Triage & Signal Extraction
Whatever came in gets read, classified, and turned into structured signal. Is it a lead? A complaint? A scope question? A renewal moment? This is where most “AI initiatives” get bolted on — and where they fail, because the rest of the architecture isn’t there to receive the signal.
Process Generation
The signal becomes a proposed action: a draft email, a scoped quote, a routing decision, a follow-up sequence. Generated, not approved. The agent does the work the analyst was doing in the spreadsheet.
Operator Approval
A real person looks at the proposed action, edits it, approves it, kills it. This is the layer most architects skip and most deployments die at — because if your team doesn’t trust the system, they won’t use it, and if they don’t use it, none of the other layers matter.

The approved action goes out the door — into the CRM, the customer’s inbox, the operator’s task list, the contract repository. Whichever system actually owns the record of work.
Audit & Kill Switch
Everything that happened, why, who approved it, what was changed. Plus a single switch that disables any layer the moment something looks wrong — from a soft check (notify-and-continue) to a hard stop (file lock, agent suspension, human-only mode). The kill switch is load-bearing; without it, nobody senior signs off on production.

Adoption
The team-touch points. Approval UI, exception handling, training, runbooks, the conversation about why the new hire isn’t using it. This is what most AI vendors don’t sell.
What kills it: shipped without the plumbing actually working, so the team never trusts the output enough to use it.
