You’re about to spend six figures on an AI build, a vendor, or a new hire. The Seam Audit tells you whether it’s the right move.

Two to three weeks. One printed deliverable: an architecture diagram of your business with every people-and-data seam marked, plus a defensible go/no-go on what to fix first — and whether AI is the right answer at all. Yours to keep whether or not you hire me for anything else.

What you walk into the next board meeting with.

A printed map of your operation with every place it’s leaking time, money, or trust marked in red. A ranked list of which seams are costing you the most. A defensible answer to the question your CFO is going to ask: is this an AI problem, an ops problem, or a hiring problem?

I come in, walk every workflow with the people who actually run it, and produce one printed deliverable in two to three weeks. The diagram is yours to keep — for board conversations, vendor evaluations, hiring decisions, or any other place you need to point at how the operation actually works.

Five categories of seam

  • People-to-data handoffs The Friday afternoon export. The spreadsheet one analyst maintains. The CSV someone emails to a colleague every Monday. Every place a human is doing work a system should be doing.
  • Data-to-decision seams Where a report informs a decision — and where the loop breaks. Reports that get built and never read. Decisions made on numbers that were last accurate two months ago.
  • Team-to-team handoffs Sales to ops. Ops to customer success. Marketing to sales. The places where context gets lost, status gets misread, or someone has to rebuild a picture that already existed somewhere else.
  • System-to-system gaps Where data is supposed to flow between tools but doesn’t — or flows in one direction only, or flows with a delay that makes it useless. Where you’re paying for two tools that should be one.
  • Adoption friction Where the system exists but the team doesn’t use it. Where they use it wrong. Where they built a parallel process in a spreadsheet because the system was too hard. This is the half every AI vendor skips.

Four specific outputs

Architecture Diagram

A printed system map of your business with every seam marked. The pitch artifact for you, not for me. Use it for board conversations, vendor evaluations, hiring, or anything else where you need to point at how the operation actually works.

Seam Inventory

Every people-to-data, data-to-decision, team-to-team, system-to-system, and adoption seam — named, located, and annotated with what’s leaking through each one.

Prioritized Read

Which seams are costing you the most time and trust. Which can be fixed in a day. Which need a real build. Which aren’t actually problems even though they feel like they are.

Go/No-Go Recommendation

If what I find is that you have a capable team with the wrong priorities, I’m going to say so. If you can fix this internally, I’ll tell you what to focus on. I don’t sell follow-on work I don’t believe in.

Pick this if you’ve said one of these.

Pick this if

  • “Something’s broken in my operation and I’m tired of guessing what to fix first.”
  • “I’m about to spend real money on AI or a vendor and I need a second opinion that doesn’t come from the vendor.”
  • “The last implementation didn’t land. I want to know the actual shape of the problem before I spend again.”
  • “I need to defend a decision to my board with something more than a slide deck.”

Skip this if

  • “I already know what’s broken and the shape of the fix.” — go to the Build Sprint.
  • “I just want a strategy deck.” — this isn’t one.
  • “I want someone to validate a decision I’ve already made.” — I’ll give you the honest read instead.
